Today’s e-mails included one from the Bregenzerwald Tourist Bureau, Austria that I just had to pass on. ex-Marine (husband, Steve) and I spent over two weeks hiking in the gorgeous Bregenzerwald area, basing ourselves in Au, Austria. There are a gazillion opportunities to bicycle around Lake Constance, day hike, attend concerts, sightsee or do nothing. And you ain’t seen nothing yet folks, until you visit Lindau. Just looking for a day hike? Bregenzerwald Tourimus suggests “Eduard Morike rambling path” in Schwarzenberg. The famous poet, Eduard Morike (1804-1875) spent a summer holiday in Schwarzenberg and the municipality built this trail in honor of his 200th birthday. The path has signposts along the route with poetic remembrance boards (probably in German).
