Tengboche was going to be the highlight of our trek, located on a saddle in a clearing with a panaroma in front us. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Kantega and Thamserku, all over 6,000 metres (21,000′) high. But first we had to get there.
Up…and…up….and….up…and it started snowing…and getting colder. It was time to put down the packs, get out the Goretex pants and layer up. While we were doing all this, porters and people were still passing us on the trail carrying those incredible loads.

One man even passed us (before the snow started) carrying a door on his back! (Remember…everything brought in or out must be carried.)

carrying a door uphill in Nepal
Struggling against the wind and completely miserable we finally reached a guesthouse not far from Everest View Hotel to shelter in and have some hot tea. …View image… Then, as suddenly as the snow had started, it stopped…the sun came out and we were on our way. This gave our group a small glimpse into the sudden storms that mountain climbers run into with the only difference being we were on a relatively flat path compared to their routes.

still 2 more hours! around Heading to Tengboche, Nepal
All of a sudden, there were stupas, and Sherpas selling used clothes….View image…probably all the clothes trekkers and mountaineers leave behind…and we were there…Tengboche!
