“Companionship” in Bangkok, Thailand

We primarily use Bangkok as a hub to fly through. Very close and convenient to other Southeast Asian countries. ex-Marine and I shop, sightsee, eat and leave. But many visitors journey here for the express purpose of “companionship” while others don’t leave without sampling a little bit of Bangkok’s infamous sex industry. It’s more like…”well, as long as I’m here…”

It’s impossible to pick up any free literature without ads offering, for example: “Sexy Hot Girls”; ladyboy and transvestites, male and female, Thai and foreign, special entertainment shows; “Lily Visiting Service” — we have the hottest girls in town…body to body massage; “B&N”…”guys are different…etc.,; “Inter Mustache’s House”, 2nd floor go-go- boys, 3rd floor Karaoke… “in and out escort service…24 hours. “Best Bangkok models…only one place who gives money-back guaranteed; “real experience in lesbian…”All True Fantasia” (six shows of course; and my favorite ad — “Super Big Men” – muscular, medically certified, full satisfaction. The ads are so funny to read…interesting (things I never dreamed) and filled with misspellings.

Even on our hotel street, you can’t walk two feet without passing a massage parlor (some with “happy endings” and bars filled with young ladies waiting for clientele. All of these areas are perfectly safe and no one will bother you. As a matter of fact, while filming the video, people would happily wave to us probably assuming that I am a Lesbian and ex-Marine is looking for a “happy ending” experience.

The Pat Pong area has always been notorious for the sex trade and hasn’t got any less blatant with time. One street was filled with “for men…by men” only experiences. Even in the gorgeous Siam Paragon shopping center, the Bobbi Brown cosmetologist was the most beautiful 6’4″ transvestite I’ve ever seen with perfect makeup and dressed to his/her fashionable nines in a fantastic black outfit. I really felt shabby next to this person.

Pat Pong is a big tourist stop. Not only to gawk at the sights but….to shop, of course. Fake merchandise galore. The “latest” Gucci bags, Vuitton…not the greatest knock-offs in my opinion. (Psst…China has better ones.) Whatever your feelings on “companionship” and/or counterfeit goods, take a walk through Pat Pong. A real eye-opener…

Thailand is notorious for its sex industry, and indeed it’s worthwhile to visit just to sample the available local fare – but don’t neglect the cultural and beautiful sights Bangkok has to offer – a wonderful tourist destination with tons of excitement to discover. Don’t miss it!
